The Executive Steward is responsible for overseeing all non-food production areas within the kitchen and service areas. This includes, but is not limited to, managing food safety processes and procedures, coordinating china and food distribution according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for each event, supervising and executing dishout and breakdown stations, and leading the dishwashing and stewarding teams.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $20-$23.

The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000 square-foot ballroom and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.
- Supervise and manage all dishwashing & stewarding staff, ensuring smooth operations and effective leadership during daily shifts.
- Coordinate the advance preparation and allocation of glassware, china, hot boxes, and other materials for banquets, based on the needs outlined within the weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) Management Meetings.
- Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of Dish Out and Break Down Stations during food service events.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are consistently met for all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishes.
- Maintain the highest levels of sanitation for reusable items, ensuring they are clean, safe, and free from contamination risk.
- Ensure that all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and countertops, are clean, organized, and compliant with safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead Cook, who oversees the Preventative Maintenance Program, to assist in ensuring the proper cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef, Executive Chef, Operations Manager, and Sous Chef to coordinate daily operations with flexibility and efficiency.
- Complete daily Inspections of kitchen and storage areas to ensure cleanliness, proper stocking, and adherence to hygiene standards.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Chef, Executive Chef, Operations Manager, and Sous Chef to complete the Daily Operations Checklists.
- Complete Weekly Food Safety Inspection Checklists of the kitchen and storage areas.
- Ensure that all kitchen stewards are equipped with necessary tools and personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, goggles, and cleaning chemicals.
- Manage the stocking and inventory of cleaning, sanitation, and first aid supplies and equipment.
- Assist in food preparation and plating, as needed.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals and ovens.
- Train dishwashing and stewarding staff to properly operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals and ovens.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations and guidelines at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or Operations Manager.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- An current ServeSafe Food Safety Handlers Certification required.
- A minimum of 1 year of previous kitchen leadership experience required.
- A minimum of 1 year of previous Banquet or Stadium or Country Club kitchen experience preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as dishwashers, garbage disposals and ovens.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Physical ability to life and move heavy objects, such as boxes and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
