Overview:Exercise Specialist - PRN
Locations: Rock Island Trinity West Hosp
Shift Differentials: Base + 12% for any hours worked 6pm-6am + $1/hr for all hours worked on Sat/Sundays
Exercise specialist to supervise pulmonary patients during pulmonary rehab sessions. Utilizing the FOCUS values, coordinates and implements physical activity/exercise rehab care of patients within the cardiac / pulmonary rehab program under the direction of the Department Manager. Performs work of considerable difficulty. Represents UPH Trinity Medical Center and works to improve the health of the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:
- Reviews patient health history and adjusts initial exercise prescription/plan.
- Collects initial preprogram outcomes information.
- Enters patient information into LSI monitoring system.
- Interviews patient for progress toward initial exercise goals.
- Makes appropriate exercise recommendations to referring MD.
- Updates weekly exercise prescription and progresses patient at appropriate pace.
Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in exercise science, Human performance, or equivalent. Masters degree preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in rehab setting, internship, or clinical setting preferred.
License(s)/Certification(s): Must maintain current CPR Certification. CCRP, CEP, ACSM exercise specialist preferred. ACLS certification
