Job Description:
The Exeter West Greenwich Wellness Coalition brings together community members to prevent and reduce youth substance use and promote wellness across the lifespan. The Exeter West Greenwich Wellness Coalition's Grant Manager is responsible for coordination of the Rhode Island (RI) Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) Partnerships for Success (PFS) 2023 municipal-based substance use prevention program. This grant will address current gaps in alcohol and marijuana use prevention among youth and young adults ages 12-18 and work to reduce underage and problem alcohol and marijuana use in youth and young adults in Exeter West Greenwich. The grant manager will be responsible for the coordination of the EWG Wellness Coalition; building capacity through collaboration with the Kent County Regional Prevention Coalition (RPC) and other coalition members; collaborate with RPC to develop needs assessment, strategic planning and programming for the community; participate in required evaluation efforts including the implementation of the RI Student Survey (RISS) in the community's school district; collaborate with RPC to build a sustainability plan.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to):
  • Work with the RPC in the development of policies, protocols and procedures and decision-making process for the Regional Prevention Coalition.
  • Implement a comprehensive prevention approach from the approved strategic plan to reduce underage drinking and marijuana use.
  • Implement needs assessment for the community and the region including shared resources.
  • Identify municipal stakeholders, in collaboration with the RPC, across the six core sectors, behavioral health and continuum of care.
  • Develop a recruitment and retention plan for the six core sectors .
  • Create an annual workplan each contract year and quarterly workplans.
  • Convene at least 10 meetings a year of the municipal coalition and attend the monthly regional coalition meetings.
  • Work with the RPC to develop a multi-year local prevention, work and fund development plan based on needs assessment.
  • Manage all activities of the municipal coalition.
  • Assist with data entry into the Mosaix Impact platform, detailing activities within the municipality.
  • Organize and coordinate grant activities, completion of deliverables, and all reporting requirements.
  • Monitor program and fiscal management of grant to assure compliance with federal regulations and proposed or contracted project activities.
  • Mobilize and coordinate environmental strategies, events, and skill development activities.
  • Travel to meetings and trainings within and outside the state.
  • Other duties as assigned.
RequirementsQualifications
  • Experience in program direction involving multiple partners.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with federal and state grant requirements.
  • Attention to administrative detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and produce high quality deliverables in short time frames, and to carefully work on numerous aspects of programs in a given week.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking.
  • Ability to work well with others and be a highly flexible and collaborative team player.
  • Ability to lead and work well with a diverse array of community-based and youth partners.
  • Ability to carefully monitor quality and work closely with partners on performance improvement if necessary.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete files, records, and databases.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office proficiency: ability to embrace new technologies, data management, and online platforms.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in public health, education, Social Services or closely related field.
  • Experience working with youth and school programs.
