Position Overview:
We are seeking 2 skilled and experienced Bricklayers to join our team at Frank's Custom Masonry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry, with expertise in bricklaying and an eye for precision. As a Bricklayer with us, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring various masonry structures, ensuring that all work meets our high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bricklaying: Construct and repair brickwork, stonework, and blockwork for various projects, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and custom masonry features.
- Interpret Blueprints: Accurately read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine project requirements and ensure precision in all aspects of the job.
- Mortar Mixing: Prepare and mix mortar, ensuring the right consistency for the job, and apply it correctly to ensure strong, durable bonds between materials.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
- Quality Control: Inspect and verify the alignment, level, and plumb of the work during construction to ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address any issues or obstacles that arise during the construction process, applying creative solutions to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other team members, including laborers, foremen, and project managers, to complete projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficient in bricklaying techniques, with a solid understanding of mortar mixing, brick/block cutting, and masonry tools.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, aesthetically pleasing work.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Blueprint Reading: Competent in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and drawings.
- Safety Minded: Committed to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Reliable and Punctual: Strong work ethic, with reliability and punctuality being key traits.
Pay:
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience up to $45/hour
