Based in South Louisiana, D&S Marine Service is a family owned and operated inland marine transportation company. We specialize in the movement of barges along the Lower Mississippi River and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. Experienced Deckhand Job Duties included but not limit to:- Safely secure barges with cables, wires, and lines while being environmentally conscious.
- Handle lines and rigging during tow building, locking, and docking activities.
- Must be able to perform all duties necessary to navigate locks.
- Inspect, correct if possible, and notify the Captain of any conditions, which will affect the safety of the tow or tug.
- Assist with the training of newly hired employees.
- Upkeep of vessel appearance includes washing, chipping, and painting.
- Daily vessel housekeeping (sweeping, mopping, and cleaning crew living quarters)
- Adhere to and comply with company policies, United States Coast Guard, and environmental regulations.
*Deckhand work schedules consists of 28/14 or 20/10.*Competitive Day Rates
Credentials Needed:- Valid Driver's License
