Job Summary & Essential Functions Maintain the flow of material from receiving to storage to production to shipping. Review quantities on hand, reconcile differences with business system and analyze root cause of any variations.
- Prepare and provide proper documentation
- Pull material from stock to provide the material necessary for an assigned job
- Transact materials to update the business system
- Physically and/or electronically receive all incoming material, opening packages, crates, and checking material for visible damage
- Verify parts and part numbers against packing list to ensure accuracy and notify supervisor of all discrepancies
- Deliver items to incoming quality inspection, if applicable, and all other material to proper storage areas
- Deliver the parts to the designated work centers or staging areas, ensuring timely response to any deadlines or ship dates
- Handle, store, pack, label, and distribute material using proper techniques to ensure no damage to the material as well as to ensure inventory accuracy
- Rearrange storage area as necessary to accommodate varying parts, components and finished stock while maintaining storage area in a clean and orderly condition
- Prepare and package products to ship, by adhering to specific packaging instructions
- Complete shipping activities to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries to recipients
- Support the first in first out practices while storing all inventory items
- Enforcing all processes so that only authorized personnel can receive or distribute materials to or from stock
- Entering data into the business system daily, support and maintain any documentation systems
- Analyze the records of quantity counted and count date on cycle count sheets and compare quantity counted to quantity on hand in the business system
- Reconcile differences between counted quantities and expected on hand quantities
- Thoroughly investigate any discrepancies in inventory and analyze the root cause of all individual discrepancies to determine why and how they occur
- Prepare quarterly review of cycle count accuracy and present to management team, along with recommendations for improvement
- Support the activities related to programming components via proper processes ensuring a quality product
- Create serialization labels as required
- Maintain records on shortages and back orders and properly coordinate details by working with other departments
- Perform all activities related to customer consigned inventories ensuring accuracy
- Support and maintain the Kan Ban system ensuring that all involved parties participate regularly to keep the system running properly
- Serve as group mentor by training new hires and entry level Material Handlers to ensure consistent quality and training methods
- Provide feedback for best practices in the department
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Intermediate computer skills (Excel and Word)
- Working knowledge of MRP systems
- Advanced understanding of ESD prevention
- Ability to operate equipment required to pack and move products
- Knowledge of proper techniques for lifting and carrying
- Strong planning and organizational skills including prioritizationand resource allocation
- Ability to problem solvev issues involving multiple variables and limited standardization
- Strong decision-making skills; utilizing sound judgement and thorough processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the organization
Required Experience & Education
- High school diploma required; associate degree preferred
- 5-7 years of relevant job experience
- Previous MRP system experience
- Ability to operate a forklift a plus
