Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently perform diagnostic assessments on various vehicle systems and complete repair orders according to dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles to identify issues and verify the success of repairs.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair key vehicle components, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning systems.
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors to relay additional service needs, estimated completion times, and provide updates for customers.
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety and quality standards, and execute warranty and non-warranty repairs as specified by manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment to promote efficiency and support the high standards of the dealership.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as an Automotive Service Technician preferred, with expertise in B/C level mechanical repairs and diagnostics.
- Licenses: Valid state inspection license is required; emissions license preferred or required based on state regulations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, engine repairs, and familiarity with advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong troubleshooting abilities with a keen understanding of automotive components and repair processes.
- Customer Service Orientation: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and Service Advisors, ensuring clear and accurate updates regarding repairs and vehicle status.
- Adaptability: Willingness to keep current with new technologies, manufacturer specifications, and industry best practices.
- Professionalism: High standards of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail, with a focus on customer satisfaction and dealership success.
- Driver's License: Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
