Job Description:

Koloma is a geologic hydrogen company that leverages its technology, proprietary data, and human capital advantages to identify and commercialize these resources on a global scale. We are developing technologies that will enable the production of low cost, 24/7 available carbon-free hydrogen. Our team is led by seasoned energy executives and world-renowned technical thought leaders. We are looking for a Senior Exploration Geoscientist to join us!

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum Master's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in subsurface exploration, with a focus on prospecting and seismic interpretation, particularly with New Ventures or Frontier Exploration experience
  • Experience interpreting 2D and 3D seismic in a variety of extensional, compressional, and strike-slip structural regimes through a play-based exploration approach
  • Proficiency in using geophysical software such as Petrel, Kingdom, ArcGIS or equivalent
  • Experience in potential field methods, structural geology, or rock physics
  • Proven track record of successful prospect identification and probabilistic volume and risk evaluations, and a proven oil & gas finder
  • Commercial acumen and experience working with partners
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in a geographically distributed team

Ideal Candidate Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in igneous rock provinces, including geoscientists from the mining or geothermal industries
  • Experience developing new methods and novel applications leading to Patent or Intellectual Property submissions
  • Experience with acquisition and processing of reflection seismic, particularly onshore data, and/or potential fields surveys

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed geophysical and geological analysis and interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data to generate geologic hydrogen prospects
  • Create velocity models for accurate depth converted maps
  • Use seismic attribute analysis and rock physics to delineate hydrogen prospects
  • Utilize potential field methods, including gravity, magnetic, and electromagnetic data to complement seismic interpretation
  • Recommend geophysical data acquisition programs and manage processing projects
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in geophysics and implement innovative approaches to geologic hydrogen exploration challenges
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, geochemists, engineers, and regulatory professionals to assess the viability of prospects
  • Present findings to management and stakeholders, providing recommendations for drilling and exploration activities; collaborate with partners to execute desired work-programs

Koloma supports flexible schedules and remote work where practical, but maintaining our strong culture, focus and momentum requires team members to be in-office for at least 80% of working hours
