About the Role: We are seeking an Export Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize the logistics operations at Eriez. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing Eriez export orders. This role involves working with other departments to ensure accuracy in shipments and deliveries.
Reporting Structure:
The Export Logistics Coordinator will report directly to the Export Logistics Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with reviewing export orders to implement prompt shipment according to the terms of the sales order/customer purchase order and the export laws
- Aids in the processing of shipments via multiple transportation methods—whether land, air, or ocean—leveraging relationships with courier companies, freight forwarders, and truck brokers.
- Aid in submitting requests for quotes to vendors and conducting thorough research to secure the most cost-effective shipping options, ultimately ensuring that Eriez remains competitive in the marketplace.
- Work with the department to prepare all related export documents
- Assist with coordinating customer and logistics requirements with the Shipping Department to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Help with routing outbound “allowed” shipments in the most cost-effective manner
- Assist the Sales Department with budgetary pre-sale freight quotes and shipping/packing plans.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or other relevant field of study is preferred
- Previous experience in logistics coordination or a similar role
- Knowledge in processing shipments, export laws, INCOTERMS, and IATA hazardous goods regulations
- Must possess attention to detail
- Must have written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and logistics providers
- Ability to handle high volume of email and telephone communication
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to recognize and solve problems
- Ability to reduce logistics costs while providing excellent customer service
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Applications and other systems (JDE Enterprise One)
- Basic knowledge of industrial products and their manufacturing processes preferred
