Salary Range: $55,000.00-65,000.00 Location: George Rosenfeld Center for Recovery 13 Hell Gate Circle Ward s Island, NY 10035 TO APPLY PLEASE INCLUDE: Resume, Cover Letter and 10 Portfolio examples. MAJOR FUNCTIONS: The Expressive Arts Coordinator is responsible for development and delivery of agency-wide therapeutic art services at our in-house art studios in treatment and supportive housing facilities in East Harlem. The Expressive Arts Coordinator works closely with program participants to enhance the recovery experience through creative arts. Must be highly organized and detail oriented. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide education and awareness of mental health and recovery through art.
  • Organization and supervision of art department therapeutic arts services.
  • Maintain Odyssey House art collection and Haven Art Gallery, located in East Harlem.
  • Provide cultural education escorting clients on museum trips and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other community arts organizations.
  • Create digital and print media promoting art program services.
  • Maintain proper client documentation and attendance history.
  • Document studio activities via photography and written documentation.
  • Attend all required clinical staff meetings and in-service trainings.
  • Provide creative resources for program celebrations and holiday activities.
  • Perform general repairs, cleaning, and maintenance of art department.
  • Monitor art department inventory, materials and tools.
  • Perform basic art installation construction practices.
  • Maintain best studio practices and safety measures.
  • Facilitate photography and video projects.
REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE 1) BA and/or Masters in art therapy, studio arts or art related field required. Masters and/or State certification in substance abuse counseling highly preferred. 2) Proficient on Mac and PC with Adobe Suite, Word, Excel, AWARDS and Outlook required. 3) Experience in mental health and/or chemical dependency settings highly preferred.
