EXTENDED CARE ASSISTANT

The extended care assistant is a part-time position, with a maximum of 30 hours per week. The extended care assistant works with students age 3 to 13 in an after school setting. Potential duties include working with the principal, checking in students to the program, serving after school snack, assisting with homework or craft activity, actively monitor students on the playground, monitoring parent pickups, and communicating with parents any child concerns. . The ideal candidate will be caring, understanding, flexible and fun, with a passion for working with young children and have the ability to remain confidentiality at all times. This position requires working with children 3 years of age to potentially age 13. The work is performed under the supervision of the principal. All duties, schedules and responsibilities are assigned by the principal.Requirements:Experience working with preschool age children Completion of the 45 hour DCF training requirements, preferred VPK Staff Credential, beneficialSuccessful completion of background checks for The Diocese of Orlando and DCFAbility to actively engage children age 3 and up, including walking, standing, stooping, lifting, carrying, etc. The extended care assistant agrees to abide by the educational policies and procedures of both the Diocese of Orlando, as well as local school procedures and helps to provide an environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic Education.
