This is a full-time Custodian position for the Caesar Rodney District Office. This position requires the individual to be able to climb ladders, consistently lift 50 pounds, and complete tasks as assigned. Specific hours may be adjusted depending on the needs as determined by the Supervisor of Facilities Management. Internal candidates must complete on-line transfer request form. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performance responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Clean the restrooms on a daily basis including the floors, walls, and fixtures.
  • Empty the trash and recycling cans throughout the building at least once a day, including cleaning if needed.
  • Check all lobby and kitchen areas for order and cleaning. Kitchen responsibilities are as follows: clean sinks, microwave, floor and walls daily.
  • May be required to load, deliver, and pick up any mail for the District.
  • Errands (Pension Office, Treasurer's Office, banks, etc.) to be run for the District.
  • Clean the entrance doors and windows on a daily basis.
  • Maintain the grounds and building of the District Office.
  • During inclement weather, maintain all entrances, sidewalks, and steps - keeping them clean and safe including using salt/ice melt on sidewalks and steps.
  • Maintain all safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by or through the Supervisor of Facilities Management.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must possess a high school diploma; certificate of completion, and/or GED. Applicant MUST have and maintain a valid DE driver's license. SALARY: In accordance with the State of Delaware and local salary schedules, based on experience and degree. Benefits package included. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Individuals must provide copy of high school diploma; certificate of completion, and/or GED, and three (3) letters of recommendation.
  • All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following: proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver's License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry.
