Position Type: Community Services & Recreation/Extended Day Program LeaderDate Posted: 8/23/2024Location: Multiple Schools Throughout The District(High-Needs School)Assignment: Extended Day Special Education Paraprofessional Substitute Salary Range: Level III, Step 1 per Para Educator Contract $20.61 (Current hourly para rate of pay if employed with ISD 624.) Closing Date:Candidates will be reviewed upon submission with selection starting no sooner than five days following the posting. The position will remain open until a suitable candidate has been found. Start Date: First day of school - September 4th Work Week: We are looking for paraprofessionals to support our students with special needs who will be attending the Extended Day school year programs. Our programs are open from 6:30am - 8:00am and 2:00pm-5:30pm weekdays for the duration of the school year. This position has a flexibility in scheduling.Position Summary: The Extended Day program provides enrichment opportunities for youth with diverse interests, talents, and perspectives. This position performs intermediate human support work by supporting students with special needs individually and in small or larger groups. Responsibilities also include encouraging and modeling appropriate student conduct, speech, attire, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Out of School Time Site Supervisor. Education and /or Experience: High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children Associates/Technical degree preferred. Special Requirements: Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, approved competency portfolio or pass MN Parapro test Valid driver's license Certified in First Aid/CPR upon hire Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention upon hire Department of Human Services training upon hireEssential Functions: See Job Description attached.
