POSITION:

Teacher

Music Teacher Coordinator - Ensemble Connect Program

Up to 20 Positions Total

LOCATION:

Various citywide sites, including Carnegie Hall

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

New York City Department of Education licensed teacher currently assigned as a teacher of music

SELECTION CRITERIA:

* Holds active New York State teaching certificate in Music

* Minimum three years' satisfactory experience coordinating NYCDOE music programs and organizing performances

* Able to work collaboratively with teacher colleagues and program supervisors

* Demonstrated evidence of strong leadership skills

* Effective or Highly Effective ratings in Advance for the past three years while teaching in NYCDOE instrumental or choral music programs, high school-level preferred

* Excellent organizational and administrative skills

* Documented record of excellent attendance and punctuality

* Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional, clear, timely, and transparent manner, in speech and in writing, to exercise sound professional judgment, and to display professionalism, positivity, and respect in all ways at all times

* Proficiency using cloud-based Google applications, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides

* Approved to implement/participate in Carnegie Hall Ensemble Connect Program

Note: Applicants for per session employment who are not employed in the Department of Education's regular school program or adult education program shall be considered for selection only if no qualified day school teacher or adult education employee is available.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work collaboratively with colleagues and professional teaching artists to plan and implement workshops, rehearsals, and performances, grades Pre-K to 12 to be presented across the city;

* Participate in the writing, design, review and selection of instructional materials, assessments and resources in collaboration with teaching artists provided by Carnegie Hall

* Facilitate student workshops and professional development workshop sessions

* Attend all scheduled planning and debrief meetings

* Maintain communication with student participants, families, and school administration

* Carry out additional duties, as needed, for the efficient operation of the program

WORK SCHEDULE:

August 2023 - Fall 2023 and beyond

Weekend hours as needed, dates and times to be determined

Up to 15 hours total per position

Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager.

SALARY:

Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
