Are you a creative storyteller who loves technology, organization, and building relationships? Vanguard's got a great technology story-and we need your help to spread the word outside Vanguard! The IT Communications team is looking for an experienced external communications pro to plan, coordinate, and lead a steady stream of tech thought leadership across channels like articles, blogs, conferences, and social media. You will spotlight our leaders, our engineers and architects, our data scientists, and digital product teams-who all build technology solutions to drive client outcomes. You will work with a small-and super fun-team of consultants, producers, designers, and writers, while partnering very closely with Corporate Communications, PR, Office of General Counsel, Talent Recruiting, Social Media, and more to strengthen Vanguard's tech reputation and attract and retain top talent. It's an exciting opportunity to work on some of Vanguard's coolest stories, design and bring a vision to life, and meet and collaborate with passionate crew across the company. Please provide a portfolio of your work, which might include writing samples, project plans, communications schedules, social posts, etc. The samples should give us an idea of your organizational skills, your creativity, and where you have built relationships to accomplish a goal.
Responsibilities:
* Provides consultation to address business area's external communication needs. Develops cohesive plans for communicating initiatives and events that are aligned to business outcomes. Assesses and maximizes impact on target external audience.
* Partners with business area to ensure needs are addressed, various solutions are identified, and delivery of expectations is within scope and capacity.
* Determines cost effective means to execute key external communication deliverables. Creates content that is clear, engaging, and concise. Captures key metrics and measures the effectiveness of external communication solutions. Identifies trends for future application.
* Applies Vanguard's style, usage, and brand standards to ensure consistency.
* Identifies areas for improvement to enhance the effectiveness of communications and its ability to execute on business objectives.
* Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Five years related work experience.
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
