The External Logistics Shipping Coordinator functions as a liaison between External Logistics and Internal Logistics/Warehouse. The role coordinates and participate actively in inbound and outbound operations, ensuring the receipt and dispatch of all shipments based on Delivery, through coordination among the various teams and carriers are aligned for safety regulations on the docks, execution timing, and delivery quality in all shipments associated with Liebherr Mining Equipment Newport News Co. Responsibilities
- Central point of coordination between External Logistics Department and Internal Logistics/Warehouse department.
- Daily review with IL and EL of pending shipments located in LME Warehouse, based on DIFOT (Delivery in Full on Time) schedule.
- Improve load factor efficiency by using load tool and psychical verification to determine container size before loading.
- Management of Container Freight, if necessary, advise on organization of available spaces at the dock for loading and unloading containers and upcoming trucks, update status of loading/unloading, picture taking of container freight and air freight loaded at pick up time.
- Management of carrier's documents (BOLs) as described in Working Instructions.
- Closing of transports in Lissy after picking up
- Coordination and monitoring pick up or delivery of Non Lissy miscellaneous shipments based on Shipment Request Form upcoming from all Teams in Liebherr Mining Equipment necessities- supporting function.
- Backup/ Support of EL Operations team for Track and Trace of Shipments in Transit, coordinating LTL or couriers' type of shipments for inbound and outbound.
- Claims management and monitoring of physical incident and damages during pickup and/or delivery of goods within the facility in collaboration with IL department.
- Verify that Loading / Shipping safety and Security operations (ensure appropriate PPE for all loading/trucking people, are correctly loading/lashing/dunnage, etc.) are implemented and respected.
- Verify and confirm the pickup of Urgent shipments.
- Reach the goals/objectives set by the External Logistics Operations Supervisor.
- Perform additional duties as required and or requested.
- This job is not a desk job and requires changing locations within the Liebherr facility to perform tasks.

Competencies
- Education and Experience: Associate or bachelor's degree in related field with 1 to 2 years of experience or a High School diploma and 2 to 3 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of definitions and responsibilities in all parties according to International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS).
- Knowledge of loading/unloading procedures according to standards based on type of goods.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office especially with MS Excel - Pivot Table, Conditional Formatting, and Data sorting with Tables/Charts.
- Has strong organizational skills of communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
