Occasional heavy physical exertion and climbing of stairs and ladders required. Incumbent must be able to climb and be comfortable at heights of 40' or more and/or depths (pits, hoist-ways, etc.), be able to lift or handle 75 lbs unassisted a minimum of 2 flights of stairs and/or 300 feet. Must be able to work both overhead (and lift weights of 60 lbs overhead for short periods of time) or on knees for extended periods of time.Work Environment - Incumbent will encounter noise, dust, heat, cold, and mud. Extra Help employees may only work up to 28 hours per week for all University employment. Employees are only paid for hours worked and do not qualify for most benefits including health insurance and retirement, with Illinois State University. However, Extra Help employees are eligible to participate in the University's supplemental retirement savings plans (403b). Applicable retirement information is provided at the time of hire. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment.
