Summary:

The Extra Help Registrar Assistant assists the Registrar with the course catalog and scheduling.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Enters course schedule data in the Banner system with responsibility for the ongoing accuracy of that information as necessary schedule-related changes are made via coordination with the appropriate academic units. In addition, oversees the accuracy of all information in the Banner system related to catalog and schedule Assist with maintenance of document imaging (including the scanning, verifying, and retention of short-term and permanent student documents) Serves as a specialized resource for staff pertaining to catalog and schedule matters, providing expertise in the areas of catalog and scheduling and their relationship to other processes including, but not limited to, academic programs, student registration, academic history, graduation, degree audits, and campus reporting. Responsible for assisting with the interpretation of institutional policies as they relate to the development and maintenance of the UIS catalog, often explaining policies to institutional staff who create catalog information. Maintains accuracy and consistency of catalog copy by coordinating the entry of all course information into the online Banner catalog Assists with the reactivation and updating of student records for returning students once they have stopped out for more than three semesters. Independent judgment, although subject to administrative review, is used in making reactivation decisions Responsible for maintaining continuous coordination with AITS and Decision Support to upgrade, troubleshoot, and resolve the many system issues related to catalog and schedule Responsible for assisting with the implementation and maintenance of prerequisite checking for those academic units identified by the Office of the Provost Creates and subsequently distributes the course schedule production calendar for each semester's academic course offerings for use by all those involved in the production of the course schedule? creates and posts the online final exam schedule for the fall and spring semesters Prepare for each term roll by ensuring courses and sections are as error-free as possible, followed subsequently by overseeing the term roll itself Maintains historical course record information by annually working with academic programs to retain/delete courses per the direction of the programs and the Office of the Provost. Participates in meetings related to catalog and schedule policy and procedure issues and recommend changes to improve the effectiveness of web posting and production issues Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school graduation or equivalent.

2. Experience in a professional working environment.
