ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Extraction Assistant will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of sophisticated equipment and conversion of the cannabis biomass into high-quality cannabis products. Under the guidance of the management team, you will produce, package, and handle products, perform inventory duties, adhere to compliance requirements, and keep safety as your top priority while working daily in the facility.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Carry out all assigned duties including but not limited to extraction, extract processing, product formulation, filling and other manufacturing responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner that also complies with State Regulations, OSHA regulations, company procedures, and all applicable laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain the inventory responsibility of all raw materials, finished products, and by-products of the cannabis manufacturing process.
  • Maintain proactive behavior around the manufacturing facility.
  • Develop expertise in extraction, refining, and formulating methods of various cannabis compounds.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on associated equipment as required.
  • Continually strive to improve existing processes for improved safety, quality, and efficient manufacturing.
  • Packaging and labeling of cannabis product line as needed.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product security, and product movement procedures.
  • Follow appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of dissimilar production components.
  • Perform in-process and post-process quality assurance sampling, testing, and visual inspections to ensure all product meets or exceeds PTS Corp.'s specifications and patients' expectations; such quality assurance work shall include, but not limited to:
    • Record and monitor process conditions to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures.
    • Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking.
    • Work with 3rd party laboratories on sampling and control for their sample gathering and reporting.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
    • Prolonged periods of hand use.
    • Must be physically able to climb ladders or scaffolding, bend, kneel, or crawl into awkward spaces.
    • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at appropriate times as this position may be exposed to splash hazards, high temperatures, and chemicals.
  • Must haves:Education and Experience:
    • To remain compliant with state law, you must be 21 years of age or older.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • 2 years of experience in a general production, manufacturing, or laboratory position.
    • Experience with extraction and distillation preferred.

    Desired Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or physical Science or similar field.
    • At least three (3) years of experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment in the pharmaceutical industries, familiar with electrical control systems for various equipment, and packaging with a focus on ensuring product safety and quality.
