Location: Westfield,MA, USA
The primary purpose of this position will be the start-up, shutdown, running and maintaining, the downstream extrusion operations. The goal of this position will be to assist the extruder technicians in keeping the extrusion lines running continuously and efficiently, while producing a product that meets or exceeds our customer's expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Set-up downstream equipment.
Handle raw material and finished product.
Testing of product to ensure it meets Boral standards.
Assist in minor maintenance when needed.
Assist the Extruder Technician when need or asked.
5S of the extrusion lines
Learn the extruder operation to be able to back up the technician.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1 year of manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of manufacturing operations
Mechanical aptitude
Be able to work a 12-hour shift.
Be able to pass a forklift test and maintain the required forklift license.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
The employee should have the following:
High school or GED equivalent.

The employee should possess the ability to:
Prolong standing or in stationary position
Complete repetitive movements such as typing
Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
Complete repetitive movements
Wear all required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hardhat protection)
Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
Ability to move or traverse about the facilities
Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
