false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Position Purpose: Extrude and Finish Cores to customer specifications and functional requirements. Perform all work in safe manner following safety guidelines. Production is completed on all lines at Standard Rates. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine quality checks on all products and WIP sticks.
  • Record data from QA checks and be able to adjust or return product to acceptable levels.
  • Use Beta LaserMike, calipers go/no-go gauges.
  • Record and maintain production, downtime, running conditions, changeover, and quality records.
  • Perform extrusion line start-ups and tooling changeovers to meet scheduling demands. Make adjustments to the extrusion process as needed to maintain quality parts.
  • Assist with Preventative Maintenance Programs. Repair broken components and make minor adjustments on linear saws. Check and fill gear boxes for oil as needed (pullers, extruders, etc.)
  • Inspect saw operator's parts for quality standard adherence. Enter Linear Saw data into Beta LaserMike.
  • Assist and make recommendations on new product development and tooling.
  • Grind scrap product, segregate type and reuse in new products.
  • Ensure safety and housekeeping policies are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education: High School or Technical School Diploma Required knowledge:
  • Understand extruded hot plastic behavior.
  • Know polymers we produce and distinguish between pellets and regrind.
  • Use hand and power tools as required.
Experience Required: 3 - 5 years experience in profile or tube extrusion, specifically with the use of calibrators and vacuum sizing. Skills/Abilities
  • Must be able to teach and train new Extrusion Operators and Saw Operators with their job functions.
  • Must be able to provide input and communicate with other Operators, Mechanics, Engineers, and Managers when troubleshooting problems or participating in New Product Development.
Quality Standards: Must be able to understand quality standards, read specification prints, and perform quality checks. Physical Demands: • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 lbs for a distance of up to 25 feet. • Must be able to lift arms above shoulders to retrieve parts and stack pallets. Occasional bending and reaching to retrieve parts and fill hoppers at higher levels. • Able to work in hot environment at Extruder head adjusting or changing tooling, or in pelletizing room. Safety: To maintain proper safety standards according to established Sanitary and Housekeeping Practices (GMP Compliance) Proper use of all safety equipment i.e.: proper use of personal protective gear including hairnets, gloves and safety glasses. 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm 3rd Shift Monday-Friday 11:00pm-7:30am
