Description USS is seeking an extruder technician who will regulate the extrusion production lines on the floor. In this position, they will work with lead persons, lift truck technicians, and other technicians and will maintain the quality and finishing of the extrusion line and follow safety practices and standards codes to meet high-quality standards.
- They will review and compare production quality and adjust settings if necessary to maintain that production lines remain open and run smoothly.
- Extrusion operators should be very detailed oriented.
- They should be able to concentrate on a machine and understand when a machine is running well and from note taking understand what is happening when it is not.
- They must be critical thinkers and be able to handle a high stress situation when product changes and how to save the product from a break out.
- A good extruder operator can run the two assigned extrusion lines but more important they can prevent a bad batch from tearing out in the line and be able prevent a rethreading of the line.
