Job DescriptionThis great opportunity is with a family owned company seeking a Fabrication Shop Manager. The Fabrication Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the production of various steel, aluminum and stainless steel products. The Fabrication Shop Manager is also responsible for providing fabrication, repair, and maintenance support to the production facilities. Fabrication Shop Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the fabrication of stock and custom steel products, with some aluminum
  • and stainless steel. Products include:
    • Angles/channels with welded studs for casting into concrete
    • Rectangular/square frames
    • Clip angles & bolt plates
    • Trash racks for storm drain structures
    • Custom formwork for concrete
  • Receive orders and work requests
  • Maintain communication on project status.
  • Manage the short and long term work schedules based on project priorities.
  • Maintain and purchase shop supplies and material
  • Hold safety practices in high regard.
Fabrication Shop Manager Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with fabrication shop management.
  • Excellent MIG and stick welding skills
  • Ability and willingness to teach all aspects of metal fabrication.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • General computer skills
  • Excellent measurement, layout and math skills.
  • Ability to work safely
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred
  • Mechanical and hydraulic experience preferred
