Summary of duties - Fabrication Technician II is experienced in Fabrication processes to include, but not limited to, the safe use of common hand tools, understanding of measuring devices, and can read/interpret blueprints. At times, tasks assigned by the Fabrication Shop Supervisor with little or no direct supervision of a Fabrication team member and in accordance with company work instructions. Periodically required to lift/move equipment up to and including 50 pounds. Additional duties and/or responsibilities of other positions may also be assigned for which qualifications are met.
Specific description of duties:
* Responsible for transporting material/tools within Fabrication Shop; standing fire watch; painting; blasting; safe operation of machines for cutting, bending, rolling, shaping; and assisting in metal preparation/fit up for welding.
* Also, must have working knowledge with basic fabrication equipment to include but not limited to:
* Vertical Saw
* Horizontal Saw
* Iron Worker
* Manual Press Brake
* Hydraulic Press Brake
* Blasting Cabinet
* Forklift
* Pneumatic and Electric hand tools
* Drill press
* Overtime is routinely required but not guaranteed
* Perform any other assignments or tasks as needed or requested by management to assist in accomplishing the organization's mission, objectives and goals.
Education / Specialized training -
* HS diploma or GED may be required depending on varying contract stipulations.
* Associates degree or trade school certificate preferred, but not required (in related field)
* Must have 2+ years of related experience.
* Must have 2+ years of fabrication shop experience.
Security Clearance -
* Clearance up to secret level may be required.
Certification / Licenses (as required for the task being performed)
* Fire watch certification
* Possession of a valid State Drivers License is required
Physical/Environmental Job Requirements -
Physical requirements include the following:
* Lifting/moving up to and including 50 pounds
* Standing for long periods of time
In performing these duties, you may be required to work outdoors. You will experience temperature variations, extremely loud noises, and other physical hazards.
