SUMMARY: The Fabrication Technician provides support for fabrication and manufacturing processes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Primary responsibilities are to complete all aspects of fabrication and welding of basic aluminum, steel and stainless-steel parts. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Reads drawings and blueprints
- Takes or reads measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Fixturing and welding of basic welded assemblies to meet drawing requirements with little to no oversight.
- Operates grinders, sanders, saws, plasma torch to prepare material
- Maintains equipment as needed
- Maintains shop cleanliness
- Provides additional labor support as needed to other departments
- Monitors welding supplies (rod, gasses, etc.), requests new supplies as needed
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Required Education: High School Diploma
- Required Experience: Typically possesses 1-3 years of experience in a fabrication shop environment
- Familiarity with power and hand tools: grinders, sanders, drill press, hand drill
- Familiarity with basic welding processes
- Ability to accurately read measuring tools: tape measure, calipers, protractor, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, knowledge of relevant safety practices, and familiar with different types of metals (stainless, mild steel, aluminum)
- Physical requirement of this position include: Standing and walking for extended periods of time throughout the workday, occasional use of stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds
