Fabricator will read blueprints to determine the measurements of each product; and operate machinery to cut and bend the materials into the shape according to drawing specifications. The Fabricator will also lay out and fabricate metal assemblies and weldments by welding, forming and various other fabrication processesYOUR IMPACTUse manufacturing paperwork (travelers, blueprints, sketches, etc.) to manufacture product that meets quality requirementsInspect product and, if non-conforming, process via non-conforming material proceduresMeet time and schedule standards for assigned workCorrectly process work via required paperwork and MRP system.Advise supervision of issues that ariseTranslating customer engineering documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) into logical processes to complete tasksIdentifying material requirements Coordinate with other departments (engineering, production planning, quality, etc.) as necessary to meet customer requirementsOther projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretionQUALIFICATIONSHigh School graduate or equivalentOne to three years' experience with fabrication equipmentAbility to work from mechanical engineering drawings, work instructions, and shop routings to perform tasksMust be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations, and measure and verify dimensions using tape measure, scale, micrometer, or templatesAbility to understand the physical properties of metals and apply knowledge in the fabrication of partTeam-oriented and self-directedCarry out production, 1st piece inspection, and machine operation dutiesSet up machinery and ensure all materials are readily availableMust possess strong math skillsProven history of working with gauges as needed for fabricationPerform appropriate duties as assigned by managementMaintain a safe and clean workspaceFollow established safety rules and regulationsTranslate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for productionEnsure that every machine procedure is done in accordance with GSE guidelinesAbility to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environmentOshkosh is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodations to job applicants with disabilities.
