Fabricator (welder) of hollow metal doors and frames. Essential Functions
- Handles hollow metal doors and frames weighing from 60 to 150 pounds
- Performs fabrication on these products including:
- Welding parts together
- Using jigsaw or other power tools to cut holes in doors and frames
- Using 40 pound electric grinder to smooth out welds, etc.
- Installing vision kits and glass in doors
- Using electric drills
- Reads Work Orders and Product Templates to establish necessary fabrication to be performed Other relative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- Forklift certification preferred
- Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware
- Good communication skills
- Ability to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms
- Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates
Physical Demands Must be able to stand and walk for much of the day. Ability to lift 5-25 pounds frequently and ability to lift up to 50+ pounds occasionally. Standing, reaching, walking. Work Environment Worker is subject to frequent heavy lifting and use of welder and other power tools. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware.
