Our Welders don't just stand in bays all day doing the same old tasks; they collaborate and help build large systems from the ground up! If you have worked with steel piping and know what walking the cup means, we can't wait to talk to you.What you will be doing:Read and interpret engineering prints and/or manufacturing bills of material, and/or verbal/written instructions to determine requirements of the job.Select welding procedures best suited for the type of work and materials involved.Install and repair equipment such as stainless-steel pipes, valves, and tanks.Perform a combination of welding, including MIG and TIG, with a good working knowledge of chemical composition of alloy in welding rods for various types of material.Clean or degrease work piece, as required, using wire brush and/or portable grinder.Heat, form and dress metal parts using hand tools, torch or arc welding equipment.Conduct routine maintenance of inventory of tools, test equipment and spare parts, ensuring work resources are ready and available at the time of service request.Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications.Welding and fabrication of various gauge stainless steel products, such as tanks, frames, components, and sanitary tubing.What you should bring to the table:High School diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.3+ years TIG/MIG welding experience with stainless steel.Experience with grinding and torch techniques, welding, welding symbols, cutting and fabrication techniques.Ability to read and accurately use measuring tools, including tape measure, caliper, micrometer in both imperial (inch) and metric.Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and design drawings.Ability to identify parts by part number, measurements, material grade, etc.Skilled at welding within tight tolerances.Possess math skills, including algebra and use of both decimal and fractional forms.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.Preferred Qualifications:Completion of a welding course or vocational/technical school education.Certified Welder (CW) certification through the American Welding Society.Knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment and products.Proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Outlook, Excel).What's in it for you?Working at JCS is like working with family.
