About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Facade Structural Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our clients award-winning team. In this role, you will collaborate with senior engineers to design and analyze innovative structural solutions for complex building enclosure systems. You'll be an integral part of all project phases, working directly with clients, consultants, and construction teams to bring cutting-edge facade designs to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior staff in the conceptualization, design, and structural analysis of challenging enclosure systems.
- Interface with clients, design teams, consultants, and contractors throughout all project phases to ensure alignment and project success.
- Manage workload requirements across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Review contractor proposals, shop drawings, and structural calculations to ensure compliance and quality.
- Witness and evaluate laboratory performance testing for facade systems.
- Contribute to internal Research & Development initiatives to enhance the firm's expertise and shared knowledge base.
- Provide mentorship to junior technical staff, fostering their growth and development.
- Conduct domestic and international travel for factory inspections, testing, and project oversight.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in structural design and engineering of building envelope and glazing systems, preferably at a facade-focused AE firm or contractor.
- Professional degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineering license or actively pursuing licensure.
- Proficiency in finite element analysis software (e.g., Strand7, Staad, Mepla).
- Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit; experience with Rhino and SketchUp is a plus.
- Familiarity with building science analytics is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of facade design across a variety of system types.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express design intent through hand sketches and digital modeling.
- Detail-oriented, organized, patient, and adaptable to project needs.
- Eager to observe project installation and contribute directly in the field.
- Flexible and willing to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
