The SSWSC Facilities and Events Specialist supports the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club in maintaining training and competition venues and facilities and producing community and competitive events. The position is primarily outdoors, based at Howelsen Hill, but includes work at Steamboat Ski Resort. The Facilities and Event Specialist position is ideal for someone who loves being active and enjoys a dynamic work environment. Responsibilities vary weekly based on the event schedule, weather, and snow conditions. Position start date: November 14 Desired Skills and Abilities: Must be a skilled handyman capable of planning and efficiently completing basic carpentry tasks. Hard-working and able to persist at a task. Self-motivated and shows initiative. Organized and task-oriented. Intermediate or advanced skier or snowboarder required. Physical Requirements: Physically fit and able to work in a variety of weather, snow conditions and temperatures. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs and work on uneven terrain. Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Facilities Manager in maintaining club buildings and equipment. Support sport program directors in maintaining on-hill venues, including nordic ski jumping complex, Howelsen Hill terrain park, mogul courses, and the SSWSC Stevens Family Alpine Venue at Steamboat Ski Resort. Help manage vehicle fleet clearing snow, maintaining supplies and checking for maintenance issues. Help set up, tear down, and execute competitions and events under the direction of the Events Manager. Maintain positive working relationships with city staff at Howelsen Hill, Steamboat Ski Resort staff and the clubs other key partners. Other duties as assigned. Employment period: October 14, 2024, through March 31, 2025. Work days are generally Tuesday-Saturday, but schedule options may be discussed.
