DescriptionThe Hockomock Area YMCA is hiring a Facilities Assistant to work in partnership with the Director of Facilities to diagnose, service, repair, and maintain equipment and facilities while delivering exceptional customer service to staff and members. This position has frequent interactions with members and staff. Therefore, a positive and personable attitude is a top priority. Standard Work hours for this position are 7:00 am - 3:00 pm, however nights and weekends may be required occasionally, depending on specific projects. A physical clearance, safety training, and background checks are mandatory for this position. Essential Functions
- Perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned locations (examples: drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixtures)
- Ensure grounds surrounding facilities are kept to YMCA standards, maintaining building exterior not serviced by contractor (e.g. snow removal, lawn care, painting)
- Communicating with and overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary
- Ordering and stocking of supplies
- Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are always followed
- Set up rooms and facilities for functions
- Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair
- Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repair
- Perform routine maintenance of building systems
- Perform routine preventative maintenance programs, follow established standards and guidelines
- Adherence to all YMCA and brand standards
- Work with supervisor to identify and complete all technical projects
- Clean and assist with the upkeep of Building and Property
- Assist with driving duties as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Prior building maintenance experience helpful

- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions during all seasons
