Job Description:

Henry Ford College presents an opportunity for a Facilities Associate II.

The Facilities Associate II is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of campus buildings and grounds, and for providing a safe, clean, healthy, and attractive campus. The Facilities Associate II maintains supply closets, disinfects and sanitizes campus buildings, performs seasonal maintenance including but not limited to floor stripping and waxing, moves furniture, and maintains all assigned cleaning equipment.

Two shifts available:

1. Monday - Friday , 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm

2. Tuesday - Saturday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

3. Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm

* High school diploma/GED is required.

* Valid Driver's License is required.

* A passing score of 70% or better on HFC test for Facilities Associates.

* Physical ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities.

Vehicle Operation - Knowledge of procedures for operating motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, or watercraft.

* Maintain building cleanliness by performing routine custodial duties and seasonal projects, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, floor refinishing, window washing, deep cleaning, and dusting.

* Maintain classroom and restroom supplies (including but not limited to hand soap, paper towel, etc.)

* Follow management's instructions for use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment, such as carts, vacuums, scrubbers, and Kai-Vacs.

* Perform landscaping duties as assigned and follow's management's instructions for snow and ice removal; includes snow blowing, snow shoveling, and manual salt spreading.

* Perform minor maintenance repair duties as assigned by management in regard to installation (e.g., Towel dispensers, Soap dispensers, Stall Locks, Blinds)

* Follow instructions for assigned keys, radios, security procedures (opening and locking buildings), and using shared equipment (e.g., ladders, floor scrubbers).

* Move furniture and equipment as assigned; performs set-ups and tear downs for events.

* Change lights using correct bulbs and follows instructions for reporting nonfunctioning light fixtures.

* Observe work areas and reports issues including but not limited to plumbing problems, electrical problems, and roof leaks.

* May be required to climb ladders and scaffolding, work on teams, allow new hires to shadow for training purposes, and respond to emergencies such as flood clean-up.

* Comply with all rules, policies, and procedures of Henry Ford College and those of the HFC Facilities Dept.

* Complete CMMS generated work orders.

* Operate trucks, loaders, plows, and other equipment in the removal of leaves, snow, and ice.

* Load, unload, and drive College trucks to move, materials and equipment around campus.

* Make minor repairs and performs routine maintenance on auto scrubbers and vacuum cleaners as assigned by Facilities Supervisor.

* Work with limited supervision in the completion of projects including but not limited to painting, event set-up and tear-down, completion of CMMS generated work orders, deep cleaning projects, grounds work, installation and furniture relocation.

* Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
