Collaborating directly with the Dean's leadership team, the Facilities Coordinator will oversee all projects related to facilities, renovations, moves, and the general upkeep of the College's footprint within the University. This person will act as building coordinator and will be the primary contact for building issues, and external emergency personnel, and assist with resolving after-hours building issues when needed.
This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experiences.
* Five (5) plus years of relevant experience.
* Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Customer service skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with a broad range of people are essential.
* Attention to detail and organization skills are critical.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and organizational skills, and be familiar with electronic communications and database management.
* Construction Project and/or Management experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of building compliance regulations.
Skills and Knowledge
* Strong working knowledge of SU facilities, contract and purchasing policies and practices
* Contract negotiation
* Knowledge of projecting costs and preventative maintenance procedures.
* Knowledge of maintenance practices within SU and government regulatory practices.
* Proven leadership, including leading a diverse team of individuals with a large scope of responsibilities.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, multi-tasking, ability to meet deadlines, working on a team.
* Higher education experience working with students is required.
* Ability to interpret policy and procedures and make independent decisions affecting Syracuse University.
* Strong data analytic skills.
* Organization skills are essential.
* Proven ability to analyze processes, identify process improvement opportunities to streamline operations, improve quality of data/information, and improve.

* Ability to lead, recruit, and train staff.
* Establish and maintain relationships with staff across the university, and effectively communicate with students, staff, and faculty.
Responsibilities
* Serves as the primary contact for the Falk Complex and affiliated spaces, overseeing the day-to-day building operations and is the College's Building Coordinator, a connection point for crisis response, building management and access control, and HR regulatory department of labor posters
* Responds to space, facilities & lab requests and examines opportunities to strategically serve the University's and College's goals, including buy local initiatives.
* Assists with the purchase and installation of new equipment, in accordance with budget and policy.
* Oversees routine, scheduled and ongoing/preventative maintenance/inspections, coordinating all Falk building maintenance and work orders both internal to Falk and externally with SU Facilities and commercial vendors.
* Maintains accurate records of major College equipment/furniture inventories and perform annual inventory review of major equipment inventory; repurpose or recycle excess equipment and furnishings.
* Manages building security systems, including key access, electronic surveillance, and security incident reporting.
* Maintains relationships with SU DPS to ensure that the Falk Complex and leased facilities comply with SU directives and all security incidents are reported and tracked.
