Job Summary

Working as a Director of Facilities, you are responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling functions and activities of building operations in a full-service hotel / conference center,

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies and procedures
  • * Monitors flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility standards and regulations using computerized programs for preventive and corrective maintenance, construction projects, financial management, and energy controls
  • Provides guidance, training and motivation to staff
  • Successfully provides effective client rapport
  • Monitors work performance and prepare performance evaluations for personnel
  • * Controls expenses within the scope of responsibility.
  • Leads, directs, and schedules work activities of staff and assigns work to direct reports
  • Coordinates building maintenance requirements with owner client
  • Supervises the preparation of timekeeping records and reports.
  • Plans and supervises a dynamic preventive maintenance program.
  • Determines material and labor requirements
  • Maintains logs, performs rounds, and schedules direct reports on maintenance work orders, tests, and inspections
  • Maintains facility, shops and mechanical areas in a clean and safe manner
  • Serves as a member of facility emergency response team and responds to emergency problems in the facility
  • Conducts and assists in interviewing, hiring, appraisal and progressive counseling/ coaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience with growing levels of responsibility within facilities services or other service related field preferred
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions in stressful situations
  • Strong customer service skills required with the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Ability to identify strong talent that compliments and contributes to the client environment
  • Experience in working with outside vendors, accounts payable/receivable, and budget management preferred
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities and maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Proficiency using the Internet and Microsoft Office programs including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
