Join our team and help us move freight better than anyone.Learn more at matson.com.About the RoleThe Facilities and Maintenance Office Manager position is responsible for the management of the storeroom and the F&M office. Directly supervises four storeroom clerks and two office clerks. Manages various facility and maintenance projects throughout the yard and office buildings.What you'll do:
  • Provides administrative support to the Facilities and Maintenance Department Managers and departmental senior supervision to ensure effective, efficient, and responsive operation of the department.
  • Manages the input of F&M data into Matson's maintenance and other related systems; data input includes but is not limited to, F&M payroll, equipment hours and dispositions, preventive service maintenance programs, equipment and parts inventories, personnel data, and time keeping of clerical unit 4208 parts room employees. Responsible for the maintenance and tracking of departmental injuries and sick leave.
  • Coordinates development of the initial F&M budget, which includes Honolulu and Neighbor Islands. Revises budget in conjunction with the Facilities and Maintenance Department Managers. Monitors budgets to insure proper management control of company funds. Develops and monitors the G&A budget.
  • Manages the processing of invoices to ensure accountability for all maintenance and repair expenditures.
  • Manages the production and distribution of required and appropriated reports for use in Honolulu and headquarters.
  • Reviews OM & R contracts and invoices to ensure compliance with contract terms and rates. Updates and monitors SOX compliance requirements.
  • Manages the CY gate scales, elevators, buildings & yard maintenance and other project management duties in support of the Facilities and Maintenance Department Managers.
  • Manages the parts room and storage room activities including purchase orders, scheduling, process flows, and approval processes. Coordinates quarterly physical inventory and controls.
  • Applies financial controls and monitoring to meet General Accounting Practices.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Facilities and Maintenance Department Managers and executive leadership.

And these qualifications:
  • College degree in business/accounting or equivalent
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
Extra credit if you have:
  • Electrical, plumbing, hydraulics, utility infrastructure and construction preferred
  • Accounting or related financial background preferred
  • Experience in a union environment preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting 50 minutes per hour
  • Walking 20 minutes per hour
  • Standing 20 minutes per hour
  • Lifting 25 lbs.
  • Other: May require travel for meetings on Neighbor Islands and the Continental United States.
The annual salary range for this position in Hawaii is $89,400 - $121,620.
