  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Has a driver's license and excellent driving record
  • No prior maintenance experience required; however, a strong interest in learning and developing maintenance skills is essential.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY TO Maintenance Facilities Director and Superintendent JOB SUMMARY Responsible for ongoing maintenance and repairs of school buildings, facilities, equipment, and property structures. Duties can vary from day to day and a maintenance schedule may be implemented so time management skills are required. Building Maintenance Technicians need to have a good knowledge of building skills including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, drywall installation, painting, and general building repair. Must be adept at using a variety of hand and electrical tools. Experience in related fields will be beneficial in this role. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assist in the maintenance and repair of school facilities, including classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces. 2. Perform routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural concerns. 3. Support custodial staff in cleaning and organizing spaces as needed. 4. At times, assist with basic landscaping and groundskeeping tasks, including mowing, weeding, and snow removal. 5. Assist in the setup and breakdown of school events and activities. 6. Operate and maintain maintenance equipment and tools safely and efficiently. 7. Collaborate with senior maintenance staff to learn and develop new skills. 8. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workspace. Position is open until filled. EVALUATION Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the building principal and/or superintendent in conformance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT This position shall be considered in all respects employment at will .
