About the position:
Were looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform diagnostics and repairs in one of the following primary areas: HVAC, HVAC Controls, Refrigeration or Electrical, Electronics or Fire Alarm/Security Systems. Secondary responsibilities may include assisting teammates with machining, light carpentry, floor repair, grounds keeping etc. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and refers more complex issues to others.
You will:
* Perform tests, diagnostics, maintenance, repairs and inspections on company facilities and/or equipment.
* Perform the most complex assignments in areas of specialization and assists in other areas of building and equipment maintenance.
* Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment.
* Update maintenance schedule through data entry.
* Interface with outside contractors and a vast array of internal clients.
* Take a leadership role on special projects.
* Support the Companys 5S program in an effort to main work area, equipment and supplies in a neat, organized manner.
* Proficient use of personal computers for work order entries (material & labor needs) and energy management system to monitor building conditions..
* Ability to lift 50 pounds
* Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe, working manner
* Adhere to all safety requirements and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment
* Respond to emergency and after hours situations to ensure employee and facility safety
* Comply with OSHA and other local, state and federal regulations.
* Must have excellent troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
* Conducts layouts for assigned jobs, reads, interprets, provides material labor estimates, orders materials, and translates prints into a finished product.
* Maintain a working knowledge and stays current on operations of new systems such as HVAC/R, fire alarms, electrical motors, chemical treatment and filtration ,etc.
* Coordinate work with other departments.
* Perform related work as assigned.
About the work environment:
Works in a factory setting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in accordance with Company policy. For forklift operation, required to obtain and maintain Forklift Driver Certification through the Company and operate the forklift in a safe manner. Required to stand for long periods of time and manually lift/move/manipulate parts up to 50 pounds or use cranes/hoists to move heavier materials. Temperatures may be extreme; elevated in the summer, cold in the winter. Needs to be able to cope with stressors and demands that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable and defined levels of performance are maintained.
About the schedule:
This position is 2nd shift and will work Monday through Friday 2:00PM to 10:30PM.
About you:
* Four or more years of related experience is required.
* May be required to possess a license/certification in accordance with state or local regulations.
* Requires broad troubleshooting skills to diagnose and complete repairs.
* Requires a high level of attention to detail with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Broad working knowledge of building layouts, blueprints, trade tools, and utility and/or environment equipment is required.
* Requires basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
It would be great if you had:
* A two-year Technical Trade School
* Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or commercial environment
* Good communication skills
About the total compensation package:
Wage - $20.19 - $28.78 per hour. Compensation depends on the selected candidates skill, education and experience.
