Monday through Friday, with nights & weekends as needed.Pay and Benefits: Pay is $17.37/hour.   • Assists with intercampus moves, including lifting and transporting office furniture and equipment.
  • Assists with on-campus events and conferences, including setups and teardowns.
  • May be asked to assist with custodial needs occasionally, including cleaning and disinfecting and bulk waste disposal.
  • Assists with clearing snow at building entrances and maintaining clear entrances.
  • Reports maintenance issues and equipment failures as appropriate.
  • Provides recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement.
  • Responds to customer concerns with efficiency and respect.
  • Works effectively and cooperatively with members of the Facilities Management and Conference Services teams, as well as students, faculty & staff, external vendors and customers and the broader USM community.
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), or international degree equivalent.
  • At least one year of building maintenance, custodial or janitorial experience, or similar experience related to moves and/or events.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow verbal and written instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying equipment and materials up to 50 pounds frequently and/or exert 20 pounds of force to move objects; and must be capable of standing for long periods of time and flexible enough for bending and reaching.
  • Valid State of Maine driver's license and ability to meet the University's APL requirements for University drivers, as listed here.
