Position Summary

As the Facility Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the maintenance, repair and upkeep of our facilities to ensure they meet the highest of standards of quality and safety. You will lead a team responsible for daily operations, maintenance tasks, and facility improvements at the Cary Leeds Center.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas needing repair or improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Manage daily maintenance and upkeep of facilities, including buildings, machinery, courts, physical plants, landscaping, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs, installations, and maintenance projects.
  • Ensure compliance with building safety codes, fire safety standards, and regulatory requirements set forth by relevant authorities.
  • Oversee large-scale capital improvement projects, including assessments, proposals, and execution.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to prolong the lifespan of facility infrastructure and equipment.
  • Manage budgets for repair and maintenance activities, optimizing resources while maintaining quality standards.
  • Provide leadership and training to maintenance staff to ensure they perform at the highest level.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and excellence within the maintenance team.
  • On call 24-hours/7-days a week, responsive to all emergency calls, and notify appropriate authorities and/or take appropriate actions.

Qualifications

  • Building Superintendent experience, preferably 5+ years.
  • Previous supervisory experience, managing a team for 5+ years.
  • Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and basic construction.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Experience in leading commercial construction projects.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergency situations.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • S-95 Certificate of Fitness Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems required.
  • CPR/AED certification preferred.
  • F-89 Fire Life and Safety Director/T-89 Temporary Fire Life and Safety Director preferred.
  • NYC DOB Construction Superintendent License preferred.

This position reports directly to the General Manager and the Chief Financial Officer.
