Currently we are seeking a Facilities Manager to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team. This person is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our manufacturing facilities, including buildings, equipment, utilities, construction, and grounds. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to facility management, with a focus on safety, compliance, and cost-effective maintenance practices.
Your Role in Our Mission:
1. Facility Maintenance:
Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and repair activities for all facilities, including mechanical (including product fixturing/jigging), electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of equipment and systems.
Develop, train, implement and manage maintenance work order program.
Coordinate with internal maintenance staff and external contractors/vendors to ensure timely and quality repairs and maintenance work.
Conduct and oversee regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding building code, equipment, tools, fire safety and emergency preparedness.
Work with EHS team to coordinate inspections, audits, and compliance with regulations.
Assure staff is up to date on required training.
Conduct regular audits of manufacturing systems to ensure compliance with recommended practices, work instructions, etc, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
Plan, coordinate and execute facility maintenance projects during plant idle time as required. (Example: paint booth cleaning)
Develop contingency action plans for critical equipment maintenance or unscheduled downtime to minimize operations disruption. (Example: weld gas, air compressors, etc)
Coordinate with EHS manager to execute required employe training or certification programs (fork lift, overhead cranes, etc)
Coordinate with EHS manager to implement corrective actions for equipment non-compliance identified during audits, inspections, etc. (Ex: lifting devices, temporary CNG tanks, etc)
2. Utilities Management:
Monitor and manage utility usage, including electricity, water, gas, and fuel, to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
Identify opportunities for energy conservation and sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
3. Space Planning and Management:
Collaborate with operations and engineering leadership regarding facility layouts and space utilization to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
Ability to plan and execute projects related to facility upgrades, renovations, or expansions....
Develop cost justifications for capital expenditures as required.
4. Budgeting and Cost Control:
Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting, cost analysis, and expense tracking.
Implement cost-saving measures and initiatives to reduce operating expenses while maintaining high-quality facilities and services.
Use the Purchase Order process that is in place and required by Purchasing.
5. Emergency Preparedness and Response:
Work with EHS team to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies such as fires, natural disasters, or security incidents.
Coordinate with local authorities, emergency services, and other stakeholders to facilitate emergency response efforts.
6. Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers, including negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
Assure vendor compliance with company safety requirements when working at any company-owned facility.
7. Environmental compliance:
Collaborate with EHS manager to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous materials, OSHA requirements, wastewater, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Minimum of ten of experience in facilities management or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to travel up to 50% at times.
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of facility staff and contractors.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with facility management software and computer-aided facility management (CAFM) systems.
Professional certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) preferred.
Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other software for data analysis and reporting.
