Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
  • Supervise employees who are responsible for the maintenance and security of the organization's buildings and grounds
  • Schedules maintenance and monitors the emergency power systems
  • Supervises all daily janitorial and maintenance services
  • Supervise Security functions and personnel
  • Manages all improvement projects, interdepartmental moves, building services, and third party contractors.
  • Trains and instructs employees on the proper use of equipment
  • Performs role of manager by scheduling employees, approving OT, monitoring performance, and takes disciplinary action as needed
  • Responsible for budgeting, tracking, and controlling departmental expenses
  • Directly responsible for exempt/non-exempt staff. Responsible for the performance of subordinates; makes recommendations to superiors regarding hiring, termination decisions, training and discipline
  • Other duties as required; this list is not meant to be a comprehensive inventory of all duties and responsibilities assigned to this position
Skills, Experience and RequirementsEducation and Experience:
  • 2 years related experience and/or training; and 2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance/procedure instructions
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
