Job Objective: Install, operate, maintain and repair facility machinery, equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.
1st Shift: 7am - 3pm Essential Job Functions:- Perform power plant basic operating and maintenance functions including but not limited to, daily inspections, log entries, operate, repair and inspect auxiliary support equipment associated with the Manchester campus utility, central chilled water and HVAC systems.
- Operate, inspect, maintain and repair Manchester campus natural gas and waste heat boilers, associated distribution and pumping systems.
- Operate, inspect, maintain and repair Manchester campus steam, condensate recovery, and hydronic heating systems.
- Test, interpret and maintain boiler makeup water, central chilled water, waste water effluent and hydronic systems water chemistry program.
- Perform plumbing, pipe fitting, mechanical assembly installation, pump and valve repair.
- Perform basic electrical troubling shooting of branch circuit, HVAC control wiring and building control wiring.
- Inspects the facility and equipment regularly, notifies appropriate personnel of any incidents or occurrences that may trigger implementation of the Contingency Plan.
- May perform additional emergency response activities, including assisting in stopping or containing a release, as directed by the emergency coordinator.
- Perform facility maintenance duties such as preparing office spaces for employees including but not limited to cubicle moves, wall patching, painting, and office furniture construction.
- Coordinates, directs and monitors contract workers as needed to support the operation and maintenance of the facility machinery, equipment and systems.
- Provide effective communication to management and staff in performance of assigned duties.
- Completes all job-related paperwork including, air and water permit requirements, service work orders, inventory control and purchasing documents. Documents all corrective, preventative maintenance as well as inventory control activities in an Oracle Enterprise Asset Management System.
- Responsible for supporting the Policy Commitments of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. This includes identifying, developing and implementing continuous improvement projects that meet the Policy Commitment Objectives.
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment in accordance with all company Safety Procedures and OSHA Regulations.
- Support and follow the initiatives, objectives and priorities established by the Facilities Lead and Facilities Manager.
- Other duties or assigned tasks as specified by management.
Job Qualifications:- Five (5) years of experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance or related environment.
- Mechanical skills including, pipe fitting, plumbing and mechanical equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical, plumbing, piping and facility-related diagrams and drawings.
- Ability to perform basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting on facility equipment.
- Proficient technical skills including ability to utilize gauges, meters, calipers, micrometers and other mechanical and electrical measurement devices and troubleshooting tools.
- Ability to perform general building maintenance repairs including painting, patching, drywall installation and door repairs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic Computer skills- MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD
- Good decision making skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Provide and maintain a personal toolset.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of any incidents or situations that would trigger implementation of the contingency plan.
- May perform emergency response duties as required by the department supervisor or manager.
- Move chemicals and or wastes within the facility and maintain chemical storage areas in a clean, orderly manner. Follows applicable Environmental Health and Safety department procedures.
Desired:- Experience with Steam boiler and Cogen electrical power generation systems.
- Possession of an EPA Section 608 Universal Technician Certification.
- Five years of HVAC experience in a commercial or industrial environment with ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical diagrams and drawings.
- Associates Degree in technical discipline and/or trade school certification in HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical topics.
