DescriptionGENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director, the Facility Monitor will assist in providing a safe and secure environment through building and establishing positive relationships with members, guests and staff. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION/EXPIERENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum age 21 required
- Previous work experience in a traditional law enforcement agency or school environment required
- Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
- Must maintain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications; must obtain within 60 days of hire
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs and freely and quickly move around facility
- Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service to everyone that enters the facility
- Be visible to staff and members
- Conduct routine building walk-throughs of assigned areas
- Understand and enforce the branch policies and procedures
- Provide clear and consistent expectations for behavior; set firm limits with positive phrasing and actions when necessary. Support and demonstrate discipline practices in accordance with YMCA policies. Inform supervisor of any concerns or situations.
- Ensure that all members, guests and program participants are relating to each other, the equipment and facility in a positive manner
- Follow all risk management guidelines according to branch policies and procedures and be prepared to implement emergency procedures
- Prepare an accurate and complete Facility Monitor report daily to be turned in to Senior Program Director
- Prepare accurate and complete incident reports in a timely manner
- Respond to security and emergency situations while remaining calm and professional
- Must work evening and weekend coverage
- All other duties as assigned
