The Facility Monitor position can facilitate house meetings but will not provide curriculum-based group unless trained to do so. Essential Job Functions include those listed below. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Client Supervision: The Transitional Living Facility Monitor will be responsible for the overall supervision of clients in the transitional living program. This includes ensuring their safety, well-being, and compliance with program rules and guidelines.
- Milieu Management: The Facility Monitor will help create a positive and supportive living environment within the transitional living program. They will maintain a structured atmosphere, ensure facility cleanliness, promote healthy interactions among clients, and address any conflicts or issues that may arise.
- Client Transportation: The Facility Monitor may be required to provide transportation for clients to appointments, job interviews, or other necessary outings. They will ensure the safe transportation of clients and follow established protocols and guidelines.
- Meal Preparation: The Facility Monitor will assist with meal preparation for clients. They will ensure that nutritious meals are provided and may accommodate dietary restrictions or special meal plans as directed by program guidelines or staff.
- General Program Operation: The Facility Monitor will support the overall functioning of the transitional living program. This may include administrative tasks, maintaining documentation, coordinating with other staff members, and participating in team meetings.
- Facilitating House Meetings: The Facility Monitor will have the ability to facilitate house meetings within the transitional living program. These meetings provide a forum for clients to discuss relevant topics, share experiences, and participate in therapeutic or skill-building activities.
- Curriculum-Based Group Facilitation (if trained): If the Facility Monitor has received training in curriculum-based group facilitation, they may have the opportunity to lead or assist in conducting group sessions focused on specific therapeutic topics or interventions. This responsibility would require familiarity with the curriculum and the ability to effectively guide clients through the material.
- Must embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation; and
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QualificationsESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Competencies:

- Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.
- Valid driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare's vehicle insurance is required.
- Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a criminal background check.
- During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders thatWestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.
- CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year experience in a residential social service setting providing services to substance abusing population and/or equivalent experience and education combined preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good documentation skills.
- Be able to multi-task; and
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college with a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
- High School Diploma required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Not applicable to this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work is primarily performed in a professional, office-based setting in a 24/7 program setting.
- Some outdoor activities may be required.
- UA testing of clients is required.
- Must be able to de-escalate situations in the program.
