Facilities Operations SpecialistJob no: 534095 Work type: Staff Full-Time Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) Categories: Facilities Operations/Skilled Trades Department:19090000 - EG-MATERIALS SCI ENGINEERINGClassification Title:Facilities Operations SpecialistJob Description:Project ManagementCoordinate with HWCOE facilities office, EH&S, and PD&C regarding maintenance and renovations of MSE facilities. Develop project scope with users, review construction drawings and quotes for accuracy, and monitor construction progress to ensure deadlines are met.Mount televisions, whiteboards, paint offices, clean as needed, relocate furniture and lab equipment, inspect building infrastructure, and help research groups with equipment and materials issues.Manage and maintain a safe and clean working environment in the department shop. Assist users with power machinery. Maintain and repair operations office tools and equipment.Provide secondary support for building access controls, shipping/receiving, and other supervisor-led tasks. Secures facilities at the end of the workday.Coordinate department asset management, collaborating with users to locate all assets for annual inventory, handling surplus pickups, and managing department vehicles. Serves as asset management department contact.Serve as building emergency coordinator (BEC). Implements plans for preparedness, pre- and post- disaster, and continuity of business operations. Includes attending meetings, seminars, and training sessions.Responds to after-hours facilities calls, including building fire alarms or other facilities emergencies.Other duties as assigned.Expected Salary:$52,000-$56,000; commensurate with qualifications and experienceMinimum Requirements:Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. For some positions assigned to this class, special qualifications may be added to the minimum, such as appropriate professional registration or certification.Preferred Qualifications:Must be familiar with and have experience using various machines and tools including, drills, saws, furniture dollies, gas cylinder carts, etc.Must possess customer service skills and the ability to interact with a diverse population.
