We are seeking a skilled Project Planner/Drafter to join our team and who is enthusiastic about maintaining the built environment and its core building systems. The selected individual will be reporting into the Manager of Facilities Engineering where they be working alongside skilled Engineers/Project Managers and Tradespersons (HVAC techs, Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, General Maintenance Mechanics) tasked with the maintenance and repair of building systems spanning across various space types (Engineering and environmental labs, manufacturing floors, office space, electrical and mechanical rooms, etc.). The individual will be integrated with a growing team of Facilities Management professionals tasked with maintaining mission critical facilities across the United States.As a member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multiple design projects from concept to execution, which supports critical building operations and manufacturing processes throughout our sites in Wayne and Totowa, NJ. You will also be collaborating with multiple stakeholders to ensure all information on the drawing sets are accurate for these projects. The project types are new construction, renovations, specialty equipment installation, and facility infrastructure improvements. The Facilities Management team is a heavily relied upon Business Area supporting approximately 15,000+ employees and is responsible for the following:* Plant Engineering* Planning, Drafting, & Real Estate* Engineering & Project management* Safety, Health, and Environmental* Compliance & Controls* Sustainability and energy management* Facilities Services* Business continuity and emergency response* Transportation & FurnitureJob Description* Develop and manage the design of plant rearrangement, production, and engineering equipment installation projects, from cradle to grave. Responsibilities include project planning, design, and closing out the project. Projects can range from $5,000 to over $10 million.* Design efforts include developing project requirements and preparing engineering plans and specifications. The drafter collects data, formulates design specifications, obtains management acceptance, and develops a completely engineered design package for contractor bidding and or internal use. Many design aspects are completed in collaboration with other staff engineers, contract consultants, and other internal stakeholders.* Ensure the optimal utilization of the organization's facilities. Assess and evaluate physical space requirements of the organization and recommend plans to meet needs.* Plan and coordinate internal moves for new hires and existing employee transfers.* Work with internal space planning software and CAD to maintain real-time employee, function, and program location.* Partner with sector Planning/Drafting services in support of continuous improvement efforts geared toward space utilization.* Help to ensure company compliance with all federal, state and applicable local codes such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), etc.* May help support other locations remotely on an as needed basis.* Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.Benefits of Working at BAE Systems* Work schedules that allow you to flex time over a two-week pay period to attend to non-work-related appointments and schedule conflicts without needing to use PTO.* Various outreach and multicultural groups that are all part of a well-established employee resource group that is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment for all employees.* 9/80 work schedule.
