The County of Riverside's Facilities Management department has a vacancy for a Facilities Project Manager III assigned to the Project Management Office.
The Facilities Project Manager III will manage a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the County of Riverside which will include but is not limited to: county facility construction, alteration, and repair projects; architectural-engineering studies, including space management and facilities or furnishings planning and implementation; and construction design projects. Great communication skills are a must in this position as additional responsibilities will include working closely with clients on scopes of work, selecting and managing project teams, and overseeing contracted architects and vendors. The Facilities Project Manager III will also participate in the procurement process, preparing requests for proposals and assisting in the selection of vendors.

Meet the Team!
Riverside County Department of Facilities Management provides property management and operations services for county owned and leased facilities throughout the 7,200 square miles of Riverside County and over 14 million square feet of space. The department is responsible for keeping county buildings safe, comfortable and productive for both county staff and the public.
* Coordinates the development of project concepts and requirements with County department officials to ensure project design is compatible with needs; prepares project concept proposals and cost estimates.
* Prepares Requests for Proposals and assists in the selection of architect-engineering (A-E) firms for designs and/or studies.
* Communicates County needs and desires to A-E and construction firms; reviews and analyzes A-E firm design/study submittals for compliance with County and engineering standards and for appropriate design applications.
* Prepares recommendations relative to complex A-E firm design and material submittals; monitors construction management and inspection efforts of A-E firms.
* Resolves conflicts between cost and technical constraints, legal and regulatory requirements, and user needs.
* Prepares and/or copies construction design documents including specifications and drawings for building projects; conducts research and feasibility studies.
* Prepares correspondence and reports as needed.
OPTION I
Education: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction or business management, business administration or closely related field.
Experience: Two years of professional level engineering, construction or project management experience which included one year of experience having responsibility for budget analysis, cost estimation and the design, planning, and construction of buildings and/or public facilities equivalent to a Facilities Project Manager II with the County of Riverside. (Additional qualifying experience may substitute for up to a maximum of two years of the required education on the basis of 30 semester or 45 quarter units equaling one year of full time experience.)
OPTION II
Possession of a Project Management Certificate from an accredited college or university.
AND
Five years of experience, which included responsibility for the design, planning, cost estimation, budget analysis, and construction of buildings and/or public facilities equivalent to the Facilities Project Manager II with the County of Riverside. (Additional qualifying education in engineering, architecture, construction or business management or a closely related field may substitute for the required experience on the basis of one year of education equaling 30 semester or 45 quarter units of education up to a maximum of two years.)

Other Requirements:
License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required.
Knowledge of: The principles of architectural design and facility construction; structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering construction; materials used in facilities construction; Uniform Building Codes, local, state, and federal building construction regulations, and other pertinent safety or construction requirements; building construction cost estimating and contract change order negotiations; budget preparation.
Ability to: Develop and evaluate design and construction standards and criteria; coordinate the development of construction projects through completion; understand, interpret, apply, and enforce codes, regulations, specifications, schedules, and contract provisions; perform calculations used in construction design and cost estimating; communicate effectively in oral and written form; establish and maintain effective working relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and various public officials.
