Job Description:

Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be required as necessary.Role: The Facilities Specialist is responsible for supporting the preventive maintenance program across all bank-owned properties, including nine bank branches, additional properties, and ATM locations in Topeka, with occasional work in Kansas City. This role involves troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance tasks related to electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repairs or replacements The Facilities Specialist will use a company-provided vehicle for daily operations and ensure the upkeep of bank-owned properties, contributing to the overall safety and functionality of these spaces.Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assist in implementing the preventive maintenance program across all bank-owned properties, ensuring facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained.Diagnose and resolve minor maintenance issues relate to electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment, ensuring timely and efficient repairs.Prioritize and complete work orders promptly. Tasks may include: assembling and moving furniture; hanging artwork, frames, and bulletin boards; setting up and rearranging tables and chairs; repairing doorknobs, locks, door closures, and patching holes in walls; performing painting tasks for both interior and exterior surfaces.Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mulching, trimming, weeding, and replacing plants at bank branches and ATM locations. Ensure that all exterior spaces, including drive-up and walk-up ATM's, are clean and presentable.Handle basic electrical tasks, such as changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts, and installing LED fixtures and security lights.Perform routine plumbing repairs, including unstopping toilets and sinks, fixing leaks, and maintaining water fountains.Conduct basic HVAC maintenance, such as replacing air filters and addressing minor repairs at locations without a service contract.Respond to emergency maintenance issues, including after-hours situations as needed, with compensation for on-call duties.Assist with remodeling projects and departmental relocations, including the setup and teardown of cubicles.Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bank's maintenance shop, storage facilities, and tools. Ensure that the company-provided vehicle is kept in a professional condition and is ready for daily use.Use the bank-provided phone to communicate with the supervisor and the Facilities office during work hours, ensuring efficient coordination and task completion.Please note this description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. RequirementsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial building maintenance or a related field.Proficient in basic carpentry and the use of associated power tools.Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of secondary electrical circuits and related fixtures.Experience with basic plumbing and HVAC systems maintenance in a commercial setting.Mechanically inclined with a solutions-oriented approach to troubleshooting.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Competencies:Demonstrate CoreFirst Values: Respect, Communication, Integrity, Initiative, and Accountability.Secondary focus on internal and external customer satisfaction, compliance, ethics, perseverance, and time management.Interpersonal Skills: Regular interaction with various stakeholders, requiring professionalism, courtesy, and clear communication.Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, filing cabinets.
