About the Role: As a Facilities Specialist, you will play a vital role in the upkeep and maintenance of ICAP's facilities and grounds. Under general direction from our Minnehaha County Community Services Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that our spaces are safe, efficient, and well-maintained for both employees and tenants. This is a hands-on position where your expertise in facilities maintenance and management will directly contribute to the success of our community-focused organization. Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, groundskeeping, and minor repairs. You will be the go-to person for responding to equipment and system failures, ensuring everything is in working order.
  • Vendor Coordination: Assist in acquiring proposals, negotiating quotes, and overseeing work performed by outside vendors to ensure it meets our standards and specifications.
  • Safety and Compliance: Help implement and enforce safety protocols, including compliance with OSHA requirements and other regulations. You'll assist in managing the safe handling and storage of materials, keeping our facilities secure and hazard-free.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Work proactively to prevent issues by implementing preventative maintenance procedures for equipment and facilities, reducing downtime and keeping operations running smoothly.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience and Skills: We prefer candidates with experience in facilities management or a related field, along with the ability to interpret maintenance manuals, safety regulations, and technical instructions. A knack for solving practical problems and attention to detail is essential.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication skills are key, as you'll work closely with both internal staff and external vendors. You should be comfortable taking direction and working independently when needed.
  • Physical Readiness: This role requires a mix of physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, and working in various conditions. You should be prepared for a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same.
