Department:

Plant Operations

Works under the general supervision of the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to support the delivery of facility services (including: space management, office space planning and moves; property management and real estate and staff support to the Environment of Care, Safety and Emergency Management programs.

* Assist with updating the space allocation plan for all buildings owned and/or operated by Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS).

* Provides support to departments relative to move planning, office space optimization (layout, furniture). Works with Employee Health regarding ergonomic workstation improvements.

* Assists the engineering department with respect to finish replacements (flooring, painting).

* Assist with contracted off-site property management firm to assure that all aspects of property management are met. Assists with assuring that offsite hospital outpatient departments are in compliance with TJC and CDPH requirements.

* Provides support with real estate matters utilizing professional real estate consulting services. This includes the purchase and sale of real property as well as lease and purchase negotiations.

* Provides support relative to stored assets (furniture, equipment) relative to reuse or liquidation.

* Assists with the signage and way finding program for the hospital.

* Must be able to interface with a wide variety of people from all ethnic groups with a wide diversity of educational backgrounds and a variety of skill levels.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Bachelor's degree or experience in working in a facilities management department required.

Licensure: Valid California Driver's License.

Experience: Minimum (2) years of working in a facilities management department in engineering and/or safety; environmental health and safety administration / management or work place safety, disaster management experience in a health care setting.

The hourly rate for this position is $34.70 - $41.63 The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
